A personal message from GITC Chairman, Greg Hadjigrigoriadis

  • News

Dear Members and Friends of Greeks in the City Association,

As I approach the conclusion of my tenure as Chairman of Greeks in the City Association (GITC), I want to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared over the past three years. It has been an incredible honor to lead this vibrant community of Greek professionals in London, united by our shared heritage and a commitment to professional excellence.

Building Connections and Strengthening Our Network

Over this time, GITC has grown significantly in both reach and impact. We successfully organised 23 events, bringing together bankers, lawyers, consultants, investors and professionals from various sectors. These gatherings provided exceptional networking opportunities and fostered a professional network that continues to thrive.

We collaborated with Greek-listed firms, organizations promoting Hellenism, and established strong ties with the Greek Embassy’s Economic and Commercial Affairs office in London. These partnerships enriched our initiatives, bridging the gap between the UK and Greece while showcasing the unique contributions of our members to the professional landscape.

Empowering the Next Generation

A cornerstone of our mission has been to support the next generation of Greek professionals in London. We connected students with seasoned professionals, established communication channels with key UK universities, and hosted engaging panel discussions on topics that matter to our community. These included events on launching careers, career pivots, investment opportunities in the UK and Greece, and pathways for professionals considering a return to Greece. These efforts not only empowered individuals but also reinforced the spirit of mutual support and collaboration that defines GITC.

Celebrating Our Community

Above all, we have enjoyed staying connected as Greek professionals living and working in the City of London. From insightful discussions to celebratory events like our annual Greek diaspora Vasilopita at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral, our journey has been marked by camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose.

Looking Ahead & Elections

As GITC continues to expand, I trust that the next Executive Committee will usher in a new chapter of growth and innovation for our association. I invite all of you—our valued members and friends—to remain involved, contribute your ideas, and take full advantage of the opportunities GITC offers to connect, collaborate, and thrive.

The new members of the Executive Committee and Advisory Council for 2025-28 term will effectively lead GITC from 1st June 2025. I invite all active members who wish to be candidates to submit their interest (via an email to: [email protected]) in joining the new Executive Committee by 15th May 2025 as per our Constitution. From 22nd May 2025 and until 29th May 2025, a secured link to vote will be provided to all registered members.

Warm Regards,
Greg Hadjigrigoriadis
Chairman, Greeks in the City Association (2022-2025)
