Meet our Speaker and Student Chair
Adonis Georgiadis has been serving as Minister of Development and Investment of the Hellenic Republic since 2019. Before joining politics, Georgiadis worked as a book publisher and telemarketer. His first parliament election came in 2007 as an MP for the Greek Orthodox Rally (LAOS). He joined New Democracy after leaving LAOS in 2012. Georgiadis has previously served as Deputy Minister for Development, Competitiveness, and Shipping (2011-2012) in the coalition government of Lucas Papademos, and as Minister for Health (2013-2014) in the coalition government of Antonis Samaras. He is now serving under the premiership of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Stefanos Tsakiris is an MSc student at the LSE. He holds a BSc from Leiden University. Stefanos has been contributing to the Greek newspaper Kathimerini since 2018, having done interviews with prominent figures such as the Chancellor of Austria, the President of the European Court of Human Rights, the Executive Director of Greenpeace International, and others.
